Like a Father

The best metaphor when someone is trying to understand God's love for them. God is like a father. So you've heard that God loves you right? Well He does, but that can be so hard to understand! Just know that God loves you like He was your father. Perhaps, though your father is not the best example of being loving. Well see it like this: God is a father like figure, a mentor, that loves you and gives you a warm feeling in your heart when you know that He does love you. He guides you like a mentor and sits you down to tell you the truth, but you have to listen to that voice in your head that is guiding you in the right way. That can be tricky to pick out among the many voices that tell us to do so many things. Basically, His guidance can always be referenced back to the Bible. If you think you hear God say something, check if it sounds like something He would say in the Bible. As for those that do have a good example of a father, God loves you even more than your father here on earth. Dads are great, but they are human too and it's nice to remember that we have a heavenly father to always love us, and isn't that crazy. He has unconditional love for us that we don't have to earn. Thank you God for loving us teven though we fall. Remember that great dads are guided by our heavenly father too, thats what makes them great!
